When you pull up to Scott and Lorie Lee’s home, it doesn’t take long to realize that it’s nothing short of fabulous and every bit of modern. The clean lines and uncomplicated exterior construction exudes modern. The moment you enter their home, you unmistakably know what it is to live modern. From the concrete countertops to the glass tile and sleek lighting, their home exemplifies the young professional couples of today.
Inspired by modern architecture from all over the world, and a strong European influence with the use of glass and steel, the Lees were able to create their dream home. Surrounded by 8 acres of wooded hills in Franklin, Tennessee, the Lees’ house sits along a creek that provides a perfect backyard terrain. “Our inspiration was a mix of the land on which we built, and years of admiring modern architecture from all over the world,” said Lorie. “We really love the way Germany uses so much glass and steel in their architecture, so we wanted to balance that feel with the natural beauty of our land. I think it works well in the woods, yet still modern and sleek.”
During the beginning stages of their build, the Lees saw an advertisement for DirectBuy. Realizing they would be making many new purchases for their home, they decided DirectBuy was just what they needed. After joining DirectBuy of Cool Springs in January of 2007, the Lees purchased cabinets, flooring (tile, hardwood, and carpet), bathroom vanities, lighting fixtures, paint, TV’s, and bedroom furniture, all from DirectBuy. Their incredible savings of over $20,000 made Scott and Lorie wonder what they could have saved had they joined earlier.
"We were amazed to find such a wide selection of modern products available at DirectBuy,” said Scott. “In addition to saving money, we found items that weren’t available in local retail stores. With the large selection at unbeatable prices, it's a win-win!”
