Christmas Comes Twice This Year in Wichita!
We wanted to do something different this holiday season, so after a brainstorming session we came up with an event that would not only excite members, but also bring in loads of toys for less fortunate children. Our center was so determined to make this Christmas a special one for less fortunate families that on Saturday, December 8, we waived the handling fees for orders up to $5,000 when members brought in an unwrapped toy.
After posting signs several weeks prior to the event, members were eager to bring in their toys and place their orders. Our members brought toys, such as Barbie dolls, monster trucks, and board games. All the toys were donated to a local charity, Freedom’s Gate. Freedom’s Gate provides toys for children of less fortunate families.
On that day, they placed 53 orders valued at over $108,000! There was just a great feeling that day, and we all had a blast! This will be something we will continue to do throughout the year.
